What is Purdue Day of Giving?

Purdue Day of Giving is April 29, 2015.
Purdue Day of Giving is an online-based fundraising event. For 24 hours, students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends come together to grant opportunities and transform lives. Participate in hourly online challenges that make your gift go even further and help your favorite unit (campus, college, school, or program) claim the top spot on the donation and participation leaderboards!

How do I make a gift?

To make a gift on April 29, click the button to the right that says, “Donate Now” and follow the directions provided. You can also make a gift by phone on the day at 1 (800) 319-2199. Thank you for your support!

Is there a minimum donation amount?

Yes, there is a $10 minimum donation during the event.

How do I decide where to give?

You can choose from among many giving opportunities at Purdue University. Gifts to any fund make a vital difference in the lives of students. If you don’t wish to prioritize any one cause, you may donate to the participant’s listed unrestricted fund, which allocates donations to the area of greatest need.

Where do gifts go?

Donors are encouraged to support funds across the University, but donors are welcome to designate their gift to any cause they feel most passionate about. If you don't wish to prioritize any one cause, you may donate to the unrestricted fund, which allocates donations to the area of greatest need within the Purdue community.

Where does challenge money go?

Challenge and prize money will go to the winning unit’s unrestricted fund.

Can I give via stock in support of Day of Giving?

You can give a stock gift to support your favorite unit. For more information please contact PurdueDayofGiving@Purdue.edu.

Is it safe to make my gift online?

Yes. Purdue Day of Giving utilizes a technology called Kimbia that is PCI Level 1 compliant. We are not storing, nor are we able to access your credit card information. Additionally, the information collected during Purdue Day of Giving will be used only by Purdue University.

Will my Day of Giving contribution be tax-deductible?

Yes. Your gift is tax-deductible. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
